Dear Friends of Dot 2 Dot Inn,
Richard and I are very grateful to those of you who came out to speak at the Planning & Zoning Commission meeting on Monday night. Many of you came from outside of the City (and County) limits, Ms. Iacoboni, despite walking difficulties, took the lectern to show her support - all of you praised our work. It is stories like these that keep us moving forward and we are so indebted to you for taking a stand on our behalf. We cannot say thank you enough. THE GOOD NEWS > We left with a unanimous vote that would allow B&Bs to serve food to non-lodging guests. But that was only part one.
NEXT STEP...
City Council Meeting
When: Monday, August 15 at 7:00 PM
Where: The County Commissioners Building - Meeting Room #203, 117 Putnam Drive
Details: The City Council will vote to determine whether the proposed conditional use will be permitted or not. This change of language which would allow Bed & Breakfasts to serve food to non-lodging guests. We believe this benefits the City of Eatonton as a whole by creating foot traffic, bringing $$ into Eatonton, and exposing visitors to our museums, galleries, entertainment, retail and local restaurants.
As with the Planning & Zoning Commission meeting, we will only be given 10 minutes, in entirety, to state our case and for anyone to speak in favor. In practical terms, this means it will not be possible for everyone to speak. But if you can come and just be present to show your support it would go a long way in showing the city that you are hungry for MORE from Dot 2 Dot.
