The story
so far…
In March 2018, the Garrett family moved from Boston to Eatonton after falling in love with 200 South Washington Avenue. "We are using this gorgeous house as our home and a bed and breakfast, serving gourmet breakfasts and home made treats." Karen is a cordon bleu trained chef and sold her Boston-based restaurant to enjoy a slower pace in the South.
If you enjoy older homes, this is the perfect place to stay - built in 1844 with an abundance of fireplaces, two four-poster beds, a well stocked library and 2 acres of garden, yet right in downtown Eatonton. Enjoy a gourmet breakfast before exploring the nearby sights of Madison, Greensboro and Milledgeville with their antique shops, lake activities, shopping and local restaurants. Right on the doorstep of the Dot 2 Dot Inn is the Uncle Remus Museum, and within 5 minutes walk you can visit the Plaza Arts Center which hosts the Old School History Museum, housing a full-scale vintage drug store, a reproduction of downtown Eatonton, from days gone by, a history gallery and an historic classroom.
The Dot 2 Dot Inn is the perfect location to explore the Antebellum trail, the nearby lakes, Athens and Atlanta, with many places of interest en route. For golf fans, the Inn is within easy driving distance of Augusta and its annual Masters tournament.

Delicious breakfasts and engaging breakfast conversations were the perfect start to my days in Eatonton. My hosts are extremely knowledgeable about the area and offered suggestions that helped get the most out of my visit. I left inspired and ready to make the next step in my writing career. Richard and Karen were both quite encouraging. They will see me again!

Perfect Staycation! Just a short drive from Atlanta, Dot2Dot Inn is the perfect get-away for the weekend. We stayed in the Blue Room which was neatly decorated to reflect a time period long forgotten. The bathroom across the hall is up to date and very modern without taking away from the aesthetics of the antebellum charm. With all the cozy seating areas in the hallway, well appointed library, and outdoor patio we were well within our natural element. I thoroughly enjoyed the close proximity to many of the historical landmarks and driving distance to Lake Oconee. I will definitely be booking another stay at the Inn. Karen and Richard's hospitality made it a beautiful stay

Karen is a terrific host. We had to cancel our stay at the last minute and Karen was very accommodating and allowed us to move our arrival to a future date. Her home is beautiful...bedrooms are oversized compared to most and the bed was very comfortable. Upon arrival, Karen treated us to a tour of the home and allowed us to enjoy many of the living areas, including the den and the library, which are very well appointed and comfortable as well. Then the next morning we were treated to a delicious breakfast of our choice. If you are traveling to Greensboro or neighboring towns, I would highly recommend Dot 2 Dot Inn for an enjoyable stay.

I have stayed in many air BNB's over the years. This was by far my best experience. Karen's home is an old historic structure; however the bathrooms are brand new and modern so you don't have to trade comfort/convenience for authentic "old house" experience. The hosts are welcoming, professional; and the breakfast was simply a "wow". Fresh flavors cooked to order and beautifully presented. Hosts went above and beyond to provide a unique and beautiful experience. Thank you Karen for a wonderful stay.

Unfortunately, we were only able to stay one night. Wish we could have stayed longer and had more time to explore the area. The home was simply beautiful with very large bedrooms, spotlessly clean and surrounded by history. Karen is a very gracious host and a super chef! Breakfast was a real treat!

We enjoyed our stay in the lovely town of Eatonton in this beautiful, warm and comfortable historic home. Karen's breakfasts were very, very special--the best omelet I have ever had and the French toast made with Karen's homemade brioche bread was to die for. We will definitely stay here again when we have a chance and hope to be able to come here for brunch one day--highly recommended!
